[It occurs to her in some abandoned corner of her brain that random boys probably shouldn't reach for her like that, but this isn't a random boy. She knows it's not. And as his hand settles on her hip and her free hand finds his shoulder in turn, there's a new kind of automatic reaction. Or a not new one. A wash of heat beneath her skin that has nothing to do with the island's warm weather.
