Marinero gives a gruff little grump, and the translator explains that while there are remnants of the dance left, it hasn't been taught properly in many years. Marinero's old body won't let him demonstrate anymore. The translator does mention that there may be books on it at the Roswell Center, to which Marinero simply laughs-- when has anyone learned to dance from a book? Besides, there's more to it than just the dance itself. It is, in fact, not nearly as dependent on its dance steps as it is its spirit.

If people don't believe in the dance like they used to, it won't do a thing, Marinero explains. The magic of the dancing comes from feeling it, believing it, even if their moves are not so graceful. People will hurt, will die if they face the Cursed unprepared or without confidence. That wall is what protects the people from having to risk fighting them face to face.

In Marinero's mind, if anything, the best option is to reinforce that wall, keep it strong. He knows that lovely little Lola feels differently, though. The Astrologian believes in the dance, but she's never seen or fought the Cursed. That must be why she won't let Marinero postpone the dance competition until the glitches have gone-- perhaps she is trying to inspire the other Animalians.

Maybe Lola and Christine are on the same page. Marinero thinks it's risky, but concedes... anything, right now, is risky.
