Like every D&D player out there, I have announced the use of an item without rereading the item description. 8Db

I figure Wash knows the common gossip about it - basic info that the townspeople might know. The impetus for using Legend Lore would've been seeing Sans' network post and Christine's subsequent comments, because this sounds Important and you don't break out the limited use magical item for anything less than that.
