Wash follows that jellyfish — down a narrow tunnel that proves downright roomy for an octopus, then into another, broader one lit faintly by bioluminescent flora. Follow it still further and the paths continue to branch, expand, and grow in complexity. It becomes clear quickly enough that there is a whole underwater system of caves down here, many of which contain upper chambers full of air in which the weary swimmer may take a breather. The further in one goes, the easier it is to see as the wall flora are joined by expansive bioluminescent coral systems that light up the caverns floor to ceiling in blue.

Welcome to the Caverns of Memory.

Wash's jellyfish knows exactly where it's going and swims a path fairly easy to retrace. After a few minutes' travel, it and Wash are joined by another jellyfish, then a third, then more and more until he's traveling in a loose pack of drifting jellies. They are without question the same jellyfish found elsewhere on the island.

They are also very clearly not like the Voidfish. Resembling brilliant white seaglass, speckles of brilliant white light flash in their domes, coalescing occasionally into shapes and movement. At times Wash will hear more flashes of sound, some of his own voice, some of other people that he knows, and some of people he's never heard before. The audio quality differs, distorted by the water but sometimes distorted further still by some unknown factor.

If Wash remembers Lyrabar, he'll recognize these jellyfish of memory easily. This is, in its way, just another hall of records. The deeper within the caverns he goes, the larger jellyfish he finds, displaying more complex memories in their bells, exhibiting more intelligence and more curiosity. Some of them turn to follow his path as he swims by, seeming to know he isn't supposed to be down here, but unwilling to take any action against him. After all, he isn't hurting anyone.

After a certain point, Wash's jellyfish seems to lose its purposeful urge and begins simply drifting on the current, jelly-chillin'. It's up to you now, soldier. What will you do?
