Wash waits patiently for things to sink in for jellyfriend - if he can wait for Caboose, he can wait for his new buddy. Odd as it is to see himself waving back at him outside of the context of a mirror, it at least solidifies that yep, jellyfriend gets it.
And then it gives him that.
He watches, memorizing every detail he can, though his hands are pressed together in front of his face by the time the memories end. With anyone else, it might be a gesture of prayer; for him, it's concern, an attempt to put the puzzle pieces together even though he knows he's still missing a number of them and he's not going to get to see the picture on the box.
This is what's missing, isn't it. Nobody remembers what happened with the Hunger's approach or how they all got here, but Wash has the feeling he's seeing bits and pieces of it: Carey and Killian caught somewhere stiflingly hot; Davenport running towards danger; and now this, likely the prelude to what he'd seen of Davenport in the other jellyfish's dome. Lucretia...did something? Tried something? With her staff, with her hands...whatever she'd tried to do, it looked like it hadn't worked, or had completely gone wrong. She'd gone to the Voidfish, and two people had found her there - both Davenport's size, which ruled out a good amount of the Bureau. The one in the doorway was holding...something - a book? - and disagreeing with Lucretia about...something, and...and that's it.
That can't be it. There's still too many pieces missing - and God damn what he wouldn't give for audio - but with any luck, he can find more.
"Thanks. That was...helpful." It's as genuine as he can manage while still being a little scattered, and he follows it up with a thumbs up. He has no idea if jellyfriend can parse words, but it can't hurt to try, right?
"The one in the doorway - who is that? Can you show me?" He pauses - that might be too complicated if jellyfriend doesn't speak Common - then lifts his arm and taps his bracer. More of these people, please.
