Sayori, Sans, and KV work together the whole afternoon and late into the night upgrading the bracer's system.

By the end of the evening, they've programmed the necessary hologram technology into the bracer and even found out how to create an update file to send to everyone else's bracers. They even manage to unlock some weird background functions that were never really used for anything; a program that lets the users draw pictures directly on a hologram screen to send between bracers is among them. And with the help of some of the other scientists, the three of them even get sent meals at the right times.

Throughout the evening KV shows no sign of strange or untrustworthy behavior; in fact, spending time with Sans and Sayori really seems to endear them toward the two newcomers. It's only at the end of the evening that KV grows quiet and their tics seem to still; it's almost as though they've become lost deep in thought now that they've achieved their goal.

When prompted, KV concedes quickly that something is bothering them.

"I'm sorry, I don't want to worry you with this," they admit, tapping their birdy foot on the ground where they sit. "But I'm afraid... I don't think I can go further without telling you.

Baisla is an island that has always had trade with other regions in Faerun. It's made up of people from all around, even some of our sailors hail from Goldcliff and Vista Virs. But that ichor told tales of Faerun as it's always been.

And Baisla.. Baisla was never mentioned.

Baisla isn't in these memories."

They give Sans and Sayori a look that says they think they understand exactly why.

"I'm going to give it to you straight.

I don't think this is real. I don't think I... am real. Or I wasn't, until very recently. At least, much more recently than Baisla should be."

Without waiting for comfort or protest, KV barrels on.

"And if we as Baislans aren't real now, if the Hunger destroys everything... then we will never be real."

They stand straight, determined, and plead with Sans and Sayori, now, wings shaking— not a stim this time, but very obviously with some anxiety.

"I want you to hack my code. I want you to figure out if this hunch is right! And if it is— if it is, I want all of the Baislans to know this. We all need to know the Hunger to fight it— to help you!

Please... for the sake of my island, for my experiments— Niely— we have to know! Everyone has to know!"

Your choice is important to moving forward. Will Sans and Sayori use Arcane Hacking to hack into KV's code?
